Golf Carts Prices For New And Used Golf Cars

Asking about golf carts prices is a little bit like asking how long a piece of string is as prices vary across a very wide range.

The problem when it comes to golf carts prices is not simply that of looking at the cost of a new or used golf cart but it also a matter of looking at the use to which the golf car will be put. For example, you may be looking for a very basic electric golf cart on which to simply potter around your local golf club or for highly specialized off-road gas golf carts for hunting fitted with extras including gun racks, storage boxes, a winch and floodlights.

Golf Carts Prices – New Or Used?

Club Car pricesIf you are looking for a new vehicle then you can expect to pay anything from just under $5,000 up to about $15,000 or more if you require a high degree of customization. The advantage in buying a new vehicle is not simply that you are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, but also that it allows you to choose exactly what you want on the vehicle.

To narrow this price range down a little bit more I would say that a basic electric cart including a windshield and top, together with normal ‘extras’ such as a cooler, will cost you somewhere between $5,000 and $7,000.

Of course, if you decide to add to your list of additional parts and accessories then the price will start to rise and this is most often seen where you want to use your vehicle on the road and so need to add such things as headlights, seat belts and other items of safety equipment required by law.

Here are some example golf carts prices from recent buyers:

  • Union, Kentucky – An EZ GO electric cart including a top, headlights, rear brake lights and a golf clubs rain cover – $5,000
  • Ridgeland, South Carolina – A 4-seater Club Car golf cart including a fold-down option and enclosure – $6,450
  • Apalachicola, Florida – A gas golf cart with a range of extras including a lift kit, windshield, headlights, turn indicators, rear brake lights, seatbelts, an extended top and a tow bar – $7,000
  • Hiawassee, Georgia – An electric EZ GO cart including a basic street package of such things as headlights and a horn – $9,000

Once you start moving into more specialized vehicles such as on and off-road vehicles with a cab then you could easily be looking at prices of around $15,000 to $17,000 or more.
